Anna Ehrner joined Kosta Boda in 1974 following graduation from the National College Arts, Crafts and Design in her hometown, Stockholm. Specializing in ceramics in college, Anna learned the art of glass design and production by doing. In 1979, she took leave to study at the celebrated Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington. She was also the director of the glass design program at her alma mater from 1985-1989, and taught there from 1992-1995.
An experimental sylist who works in many techniques, Anna creates pieces distinguished by simple, powerful forms and her great skill in using color to create shimmering effects. Swirling veils of color within the glass, in fact, are something of an Anna Ehrner signature. Anna has created some of Kosta Boda's most successful and collectible lines.

The artists of Kosta Boda have a decisive role to play in all the creative stages of the process. The cooperation between the designers and the skilled craftspeople is very close; indeed, it is essential if the designers are to transfer their intentions to the glass.
